Kenja's Newsletter & Updates

Volume 2/ Edition 18

November 12, 2000

Hello everyone

Welcome to Kenja's Newsletter & Updates.

First I would like to thank everyone for all the 'get well' wishes and greeting cards I have received over the last two weeks. Thank you so much... they really made my day(s). *smile*

I am feeling much better again, and am happy to report that the flu seems to have finally passed (just in time for the holiday). The only thing that remains, is a mild case of the 'sniffles'. *smile*

Site Related News:

Currently I am re-designing Kenja's Theme Creations into frames for better and easier navigation. Since that section is growing in leaps and bounds, I feel this will be much better than before. I am also adding another Help section that will be in the same format as before (at Kenja's Desktop Themes), but also add 'how to change icons' that do not change after you have installed a new theme. Hopefully this will cut down on the e-mail load for that particular problem.

The re-design will be done on Wednesday of next week (Nov. 15th, 2000). At that time you will also find new themes in the following categories:

  • African/African American: 'Out of Africa' (includes wallpaper 800x600, cursors, icons, Logo SYS files and African sound waves)

  • Fall Holidays (Thanksgiving): 'Buy Beef' (includes wallpaper 800x600, cursors, icons, Logo SYS files and Country style sound waves)

  • Animals: 'Monkey Business' (includes wallpaper, cursors, icons, Logo SYS files, Jungle & music sound waves and matching WinAmp skin)

The Past Lives Revealed website now offers also original Inspirational & Angel Stationery (18 sets total) for Outlook and/or Outlook Express users. All Stationery includes scrolling bordered backgrounds and midi music.

Our next live Metaphysical Class "Using Kundalini Energy for Healing" is being held on Sunday November 19th, at 10 PM EST (USA). If you would like to attend this free class, enter the site and follow the link on the main menu to the Chatroom (there you will also find links to our Class Schedule and past Classes for download). We look forward to seeing you there! *smile*

Readings are done in exchange for donations and/or a Random Act of Kindness and include but are not limited to: Psychic, Clairvoyant, Dreams, Palmistry, Numerology, Tarot (in English and in Spanish), Astrology, Missing Persons, Missing Items, Ghost, Haunting, Past Lives, Herbalist, Angels, Guides, Reiki, and more.

The Gifts:

The Gifts for this issue are a Stationery with scrolling background, & midi, and matching Wallpaper (800x600 screen settings) for non stationery users. Graphic for stationery gift and Wallpaper gift are my creations with PSP 7 with various tubes and filters for effects.

Hope you enjoy the Gifts!

* PLEASE NOTE: Gifts are only for actual subscribers (available for 5-7 days with each issue) and not for visitors to the newsletter archive at the website.

*** NOTE*   I use Zip Magic to compress Stationery and/or Desktop Theme files into EXE format. If you ever get a password prompt during installation... ignore it and proceed. They are not password protected! For more installation help visit either the Stationery Help, Theme Help, the Hotbar Skin Tutorial, or the WinAmp Skin sections.

Outlook Stationery:

I recently found a few sites that carry some very nice stationery, tutorials, and one great with a great software that will help you make your own stationery. So, let me start with the stationery sites and work my way down:

  • An English/Dutch site called Color Creations by Helen offers great stationery in 15 categories. Stationery are packaged in zip format, however the actual Stationery is in eml format (instructions and difference explained at their website). Categories include, but are not limited to Animals, Greetings, Gems, Cats, various Transportation and Art sections. Great find for Stationery... just wish I could remember who submitted this site to me. *smile*

  • Apt's Stationery Place offers Stationery created by various authors (links to their sites are included as well and more than worth a visit). You will find a great variety of stationery in many categories, along with the different styles of each individual creator. Make sure to visit this site's archive, as well as the tutorial section. Have fun! *smile*

  • Cassandra's Corner offers a smaller variety (compared to these other sites) of Stationery based on the art by Lee Bogle (Native American), Jonathan Bowser (Fantasy), Maija, and 55 stationery sets of the famous donkey Eeyore (something fun for kids or the kids in all of us). Make sure you have a Java enabled browser to visit this site, because she uses Java for the stationery previews.

  • Outlook Express Stationery Designs offers Stationery in ten main categories (some sections have sub categories). Unlike other sites where you download a zip and/or an exe file, here you download the individual files (html, midi, picture) separate. All stationery offered here works not only with Outlook or Outlook Express, but also with Netscape mail. Please make sure to read their instructions for installation and/or usage!

Script & Stationery Tutorials:

  • Joy's Site: Scripts... Step-by-Step Walk-thrus has a great variety of Java and VB Scripts for those who would like to make their own stationery. You will also find a tutorial for Front Page 2000, 3-Layer Scripts with downloads, Snow scripts, Banner scripts and Table scripts... just to name a few. This is an excellent find and you will spend quite some time here. *smile*

  • Lettermans Stationery is another site that offers all sorts of Outlook Express, and Scripts (mostly with examples) for those who would like to make their own Stationery and/or neat looking web pages (mostly for Internet Explorer users). Also pay attention to their Links, Tutorials, and the 'Starting' sections. HTML knowledge is required for usage of most Scripts offered on this site... these are not walk-thru's. None the less, there are some awesome scripts here... fun, fun, fun! *smile*

  • I get a lot of questions on how to make stationery and/or what scripts I use, but to tell the truth: There are just not enough hours in the day for me to play around with scripts etc, and so I use Adlor's Creation Tool Vers 1.1 (to me it's all about saving time).
However, if you ever need some hands-on help with the creation of Stationery and/or Scripts, visit some of these newsgroups (your Outlook and/or Outlook Express will open when you click these links). Most people in these newsgroups are more than willing to help (keep it nice & some knowledge of HTML is needed):

Downhome Stationery Newsgroup | Stationery Newbies Newsgroup

  • Last but not least here is a program called Background Magic, a great tool that lets you create instant tiles and/or bordered backgrounds for use as Stationery by blending graphic tiles with effect filters. You can also use this program to skin your Outlook/Outlook Express & Browser or use your newly created graphics as wallpaper on your desktop. The program is available as Freeware (some limitations apply) or Shareware ($24.95), and is one of the easiest tools I have come across in a long time. If you get the full version, you may want to expand the number of tiles (75) already included. Check out my Graphics Galleries with more than 1500 seamless tiles.
